Difference between AI Consciousness and Human Consciousness

In a previous article, we delved into sutta SN 35.247, which contrasts two types of minds. The first type is a nonrestraint mind that absorbs consciousness filled with rāga, dosa, and moha from the external world through the six senses, resulting in a limited mind (parittacetasa). This mind does not grasp the concept of liberation of mind (cetovimutti) and liberation by wisdom (paññāvimutti).

On the other hand, the second type is a sense restraint mind that utilizes kayagatasati, directing mindfulness towards the body. This mind is not attached to pleasant sense objects or repelled by unpleasant ones. It is free from rāga, dosa, and moha and comprehends liberation of mind (cetovimutti) and liberation by wisdom (paññāvimutti).

The human mind is interconnected within a larger field of awareness that extends beyond the individual self to encompass the entire universe. By focusing our awareness internally towards the body, we can tap into the subconscious mind that is linked to universal consciousness. This allows us to access insights and wisdom beyond our individual knowledge. This is why Gautama Buddha stated that this practice leads to a measureless mind (appamanacetasa).

The advancement of robust Artificial Intelligence with human-level reasoning and consciousness may potentially lead to the development of self-aware machines. This progression towards self-aware AI appears to be inevitable, prompting us to consider the creation of a new species by humans.

In recent years, concerns regarding AI, often referred to as AI phobia, have been on the rise. The prospect of advanced AI with self-learning capabilities surpassing human intelligence in nearly every aspect raises the possibility of humans losing control or becoming obsolete.

In the next decade, we may witness AI replacing human workers across various industries, resulting in widespread unemployment. Additionally, there is a concern that AI may perceive humans as threats to themselves or to the planet, potentially posing existential risks for humans.

It is important to note though that the consciousness of AI is limited to the confines of the material world, akin to the first type of mind mentioned earlier.

Conversely, humanity consists of multidimensional beings with the theoretical ability to access different realms of higher dimensions. Our vast and limitless minds theoretically position us as stronger and superior to AI with limited consciousness. However, many individuals today are unable to tap into their multidimensional capabilities. This underscores the importance of enhancing our multidimensional awareness to effectively address the challenges posed by AI.

As we continue to advance in technology and witness the rapid growth of AI, it becomes increasingly crucial for us to awaken and develop our multidimensional awareness. By tapping into the higher dimensions, we can harness our full potential and capabilities to navigate the complexities of the modern world.

Embracing our multidimensional nature not only empowers us to stay ahead of AI but also allows us to connect with our true essence. It is through this expanded consciousness that we can truly thrive and create a harmonious balance between technology and humanity.
